Term 6

Term 6 – Year 7 and Year 8 RM (Technology Lifeskills)

As of Term 6 all work will be set by your RM teacher through weekly assignments sent to you on Microsoft Teams. The work sent to you will have a PowerPoint lesson attached to it for you to read through.

You will need to:

  1. Read through the PowerPoint lesson and complete the tasks in your Term 6 RM booklet that was posted home to you.
  1. When you have completed the work you will need to photograph it and send it back to your subject teacher through Teams or by email. 

To upload your work on Teams, on the assignment click on ‘Add work’ and attach your photo.

Your subject teacher will then be able to offer you feedback.

Term 5 

Mechanical Toy

Mechanism are everywhere! They are devices that can change one form of force into another. They can range from simple mechanisms such as a door handle, scissors or hole punch to complex car engines, bicycles and manufacturing machinery. In this project you will be learning about different types of mechanisms and using this knowledge to develop your own mechanical toy.

Work through each of the lessons weekly and complete all of the tasks and extended learning activities in the PowerPoints below.

Please send photographs of your completed work through to your current RM teacher for feedback.

Tech Home Learning Page Monday 23rd March - 16th April

  1. Students should complete all application and challenge tasks not yet completed from their T4 Knowledge Organiser. These are to be completed in your new lime green Home Learning book and will be checked on return to school. 
  2. Students should then revisit their terms 1 to 3 Knowledge Organisers to embed previous areas of weakness through quizzing and self-checking in their home learning book.

Tasks: To produce a greeting card for a special occasion and a child’s book cover design for a book of your choice. Consider what types of images to use, lettering style and layout for both tasks.
