Year 11 Geography

Term 5

This term in Geography we will be revising content and exam technique.

Each week two lessons up until Week 3 will be uploaded onto the Home Learning section of the website. These lessons have been designed so that you should only rarely, if ever, need resources outside of the PowerPoint.

  1. You should complete these lessons weekly in the exercise book you have been given.
  2. Where appropriate – give yourself marks and feedback (there will be information in the lessons to help you do this).
  3. Follow the guidance on the lessons about completing homework linked to your Term 5 KO.
  4. Complete the wider reading linked below.
  5. There will also be bridging work for you to complete if you are interested in IB Geography.

If you have any questions or would like any of the work you have completed to be marked. Please email either myself of your class teacher.

Following Week 3 you should follow the Y11 bridging timetable. If you would like any further support please feel free to contact any of your teachers or myself for guidance.

The Geography Team wish you all the best in whatever you choose to do next.

You have access to past papers for paper 1, 2 and 3, of the 2019 series. You should aim to compete the papers in the time stated on the front of the paper.

Step 1: answer the paper in one sitting (ideally) in the correct time frame

Step 2: use the mark scheme provided to go through your answers to each question, award yourself the marks

Step 3: use the examine report, focusing on the questions you were unsure of (and 8 markers!) read the sample answer and examiner feedback to add to your original answers.

Knowledge Organisers

You have KO’s for every topic of the entire GCSE, they are an excellent place to start to understand the ‘bare bones’ of each topic. Start with your areas of weakness, use the information to answer the application questions on the second page.

Answering ‘Assess’ Questions

Use the guidance, read through the information and complete the activities on the sheets to build your confidence in answering assess questions (these will be 8 markers).

If you need any support or guidance please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards
Miss A. Goren
