Community

At the Malling School we pride ourselves on our links with the local community. We work in conjunction with many outside agencies to provide our students with new opportunities within the wider community.

Students experience a variety of Health Days, assemblies and presentations by outside speakers throughout the year.

We have signed up to the Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council’s ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign and we regularly take part in community litter picks and recycling campaigns.

On a Monday lunchtime we are joined by Revd Jim Brown of St. James Church, East Malling, ‘Father Jim’, as he is known to students, comes in for an informal chat with students. Last term he and Mrs Croft led students through Advent and saw them making Christingle decorations.  This term the focus is on Lent.

In 2011 the school introduced ‘The Friends of The Malling School’ in order to raise funds that can be used for extra opportunities for the students. We have held a number of raffles and fund raising events. Our most popular events are our Pamper Evenings, giving the ladies a chance to be ‘pampered’ by beauty therapists.

If you would like to become a ‘friend’ and help us with our fund raising, please contact helen.baker@themallingschool.kent.sch.uk  for more details.
