Literacy and reading are actively encouraged and students frequently visit the school library at lunch breaks where they must alternate use of the computers with book reading!

Science is a subject for which the school is superbly equipped with the latest technology and equipment. 

It has been singled out by the Local Authority for an example of ‘best practice’; in fact, The Malling School is one of only four in the whole of Kent to receive such an accolade.

In recognition of our outstanding achievements, we were awarded specialist Science and sports college status in September 2010.

Set in its own rolling grounds, the school doesn’t just teach a wide number of sports – with our brand new £150k sports science laboratory we can offer our students unique opportunities to monitor and improve their own performance.

The latest feedback techniques such as videoed and played back sports sessions with discussion are used regularly.  The school also boasts a new fitness suite with the latest electronic cardio-vascular exercise equipment .

Arts  are a thriving part of the school with light, airy arts rooms and a superbly-equipped theatre hall, dance studio and music rooms.  Several former students are forging a successful career in acting and other performing arts, and as well as studying associated subjects, the school has many extra-curricular opportunities for students.
