Art Remembrance Competition April 2021

Art Competition This term students at The Malling School have been reflecting on Inspirational Figures. As one of the focal points students looked at the amazing work of the NHS and how British artist Tom Croft inspired a collection of artwork called, ‘Portraits for NHS Heroes.’ This collection of artwork was produced in honour of the NHS staff who have risked their lives daily since the start of the pandemic. On the one-year anniversary of the Covid 19 pandemic students were challenged with a competition to produce a piece of artwork as a form of remembrance. The artwork submitted was truly inspiring and really demonstrated our core school values of being Caring, Determined and Reflective. As a reward for their hard work, all students who entered were awarded with a free lunch. Mr Vennart presented the prizes on Thursday 20th May and shared his congratulations to all the winners. Overall winners of the Remembrance Art Competition: • In joint 4th place for a £10 Amazon voucher: Jake Towner and Chloe Sanders • In 3rd place for a £20 Amazon voucher: Brandon Bellchambers • In 2nd place for a £30 Amazon voucher: Amy Bannister • In 1st place for a brand-new Dell laptop: Amber Quinn Thank you to everyone who entered and congratulations to the winners!
