Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh 2022

It is with great pleasure that I write to you to congratulate and recognise the achievements of our Year 9 students. Over two days last week, the group completed the expedition part of their Duke of Edinburgh award.

Students had been asked to participate in a range of tasks and activities that involved them stepping out of their comfort zones whilst incorporating team building, communication and cohesive skills. Throughout the two days the Malling School Way ethos was at the forefront of all of these young people’s actions. Character and Personal Development are on par at the school with academic outcomes, they are held in as high regard. Last week our Year 9 community really embraced this and should all be proud of their achievements.

Work now begins on completing the other components of the award including volunteering and physical skills.
