successes of the past three years

The Malling School has built on the successes of the past three years with some excellent GCSE results across the full range of subjects. Although the format for awarding the qualifications has changed for the second year in a row, the grades achieved reflect the hard work and commitment shown by all students. All students have secured a meaningful destination and The Malling School Sixth Form continues to be a popular choice, with students studying the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme and vocational pathways.

Particular successes include Nathan Baines, who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8. Pheobe Drake secured four grade 9s, two 8s and a grade 7. Our Tydeman Centre students have done well again including a number of top grades, with all students securing a place in further education including continuing at The Malling School.

Sixth Form students at The Malling School have continued to do well this year and the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme has produced excellent results across the board. The highest performing subjects include Biology, Chemistry, Geography, History and Maths with all achieving above the global average for the subject. All other subjects achieved well and achieved positive value-added scores, including BTEC Sport, Applied Science, the Extended Project Qualification, IB English, IB Psychology, IB Film and IB Politics and BTEC Health & Social Care.

Individual successes include Emily Masters, who achieved grade 7 in all three IB Diploma subjects at Higher Level- the highest grade possible. Emily gained 292 UCAS points, which is the equivalent of more than 5 A* grades at A Level and is going on to study History at The University of Kent. A number of students achieved top grades in a range of IB subjects and have secured places at universities including Durham, Surrey, Bournemouth, Brighton, Kent, and Aberystwyth.
