Travel Saver

Parents/carers can now apply for KCC Travel Saver passes

After a few problems our application system is fixed so please help us to tell parents/carers that they can apply for their KCC Travel Saver and 16+ Travel Saver bus passes now.

Applications can be made at any time, but they need to apply by 31 July to get their pass at the start of term.

The KCC Travel Saver and KCC 16+ Travel Saver are discounted bus pass schemes provided by Kent County Council to help parents and students with the cost of bus travel. They are available to all secondary school students living in Kent and can save them money compared to buying tickets from bus operators.

When you can use it

The KCC Travel saver offers unlimited bus travel between 6am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. It is valid from the start of the school year in September 2022 to 31 July 2023 but some operators also allow it to be used at other times.

The KCC 16+ Travel Saver offers unlimited bus travel at all times between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.

Check for bus service changes before you apply

The impacts of the pandemic and increases to fuel and driver costs mean a number of bus services are changing and some will stop completely. Before parents/carers apply we are asking them to check with their bus operator and go to the Travel Saver website for a summary of changes to bus services.
