Quality Mark Plus Award for Character Education

The Malling School has successfully retained the Quality Mark Plus Award for Character Education. This award recognises the importance we place on developing positive character traits in our students through The Malling School Way – caring, determined and reflective.

The assessor highlighted a number of strengths in our renewal, including:

• Making character education central to our ethos and culture
• Rewarding students for good character as well as academic success
• Providing a wide range of enrichment opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh, Forest School and community action projects
• Valuing student leadership, from sixth form mentoring to recognising volunteering in the wider community
• Embedding character throughout our curriculum, including PSHE, careers, the Collective Read and our Period 1 programme

We are most proud that this award reflects our students and families. It is their kindness, determination and reflective spirit that make The Malling School such a special and successful place.
