Space School

FREE Space School Wednesday 5th - Friday 7th August for Year 10 & Year 11 Students

The University of Kent are excited to announce that applications are now open for this year’s Space School!

Space School offers a wonderful opportunity for budding scientists to spend a few days designing, building and (weather permitting) launching their own rockets! The aim is to take students through a condensed mission life cycle as they plan for their rocket’s journey to Mars. There will also be an opportunity to programme LEGO rovers to navigate a simulated moon surface obstacle course.

The programme will take place over the summer holiday, running from Wednesday the 5th to Friday the 7th of August, with participants attending in-person at our Canterbury campus from 10am to 5pm each day.

Space School is completely free to attend, with lunch provided to all participants. However, participants will be expected to make their own way to and from campus each day. Some participants may qualify for support with travel costs.

This opportunity is available to Y10 & Y11 students from schools and colleges within Kent studying science. Considering there are limited places available, applicants who meet the university’s widening participation criteria will be prioritised.

To apply, please complete our booking form before midnight on Sunday 24th May.
