Students Celebrate Results and Exciting Next Steps at The Malling School
Students at The Malling School are celebrating their GCSE and Sixth Form achievements, with results opening the door to an exciting range of university places, further education, employment and other opportunities.
This year’s results provide much to celebrate, with students once again demonstrating remarkable resilience, determination and commitment. Headline outcomes have remained broadly consistent, alongside encouraging areas of improvement and individual success.
These results also reflect the invaluable encouragement and support of families, alongside the dedication of staff across the school who have supported students throughout their journey.
GCSE Success
Year 11 students achieved a positive set of GCSE and vocational results, with a particular highlight being the number securing passes in both English and Mathematics, providing them with important qualifications for their chosen post-16 pathways.
Among those celebrating particularly impressive results are:
- Alex achieved an exceptional set of results, including grade 9s in Mathematics and Computing, 9-9 in Combined Science, grade 8s in Geography and Spanish, grade 7s in both English Language and Literature, and a Distinction* in Sport.
- Megan secured an excellent range of results, including 8-7 in Combined Science, grade 8s in Computing and Spanish, grade 7s in Mathematics and Geography, and a Distinction* in Sport.
- Olivia achieved grade 8s in Mathematics and Business, 8-7 in Combined Science, grade 7s in Geography and Spanish, alongside a Distinction* in Sport.
- Charley achieved an impressive set of results, including 8-7 in Combined Science, a grade 8 in Art & Design, grade 7s in English Language and Geography, and a Distinction in Music.
- Jake achieved strong results across the curriculum, including 8-7 in Combined Science, a grade 8 in History, and grade 7s in English Language and Computing.
These successes reflect achievements across the wider year group, with students securing the qualifications needed to progress to The Malling School Sixth Form, colleges, apprenticeships and other post-16 opportunities.
Sixth Form Success
At Key Stage 5, students made positive progress across both academic and vocational provision, with positive value added in both areas and particularly encouraging improvement in vocational outcomes. There were also excellent academic performances, particularly in History, Psychology and Mathematics.
Fifty-five per cent of Level 3 students are progressing to university, including destinations at seven Russell Group institutions – Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Southampton, Birmingham and Exeter. Students will study courses ranging from Mathematics and Biochemistry to Law, Psychology, Geology and Cognitive Science.
The school is equally proud that every vocational student has secured a positive destination, including employment, college, supported internships and specialist provision.
Individual successes include:
- Brooke achieved an outstanding grade 7 in IB Psychology HL, alongside a grade 6 in Chemistry HL and strong results across her wider programme.
- Brendan achieved an impressive set of results, including grade 6s in IB Computing HL and Mathematics HL, a grade 5 in Economics HL and an A in Criminology.
- Yasmine achieved grade 6s in both IB English HL and Psychology HL, alongside a grade 5 in History HL.
- Kian combined his academic studies with an outstanding D*D* in BTEC Sport, alongside a grade 5 in IB Psychology HL.
- Molly achieved an excellent D*DD in BTEC Health & Social Care, while Thomas and also secured D*DD in BTEC Sport.
