UPDATE ON LAKE PROJECT - SEPTEMBER 2023 We are proud to display our new signage around the lake.
In a year marked by the return to pre-pandemic standards, our Y11 & Y13 students have demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination. We are elated to report that they have surpassed national averages in numerous subjects. Notably, an impressive 60% of our Y11 pupils have achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics, marking the highest achievement in the school's history. Our Sixth Form, known for being significantly oversubscribed, has once again delivered exceptional results through our International Baccalaureate Programmes and tailored Level 2 curriculum offerings. These remarkable achievements are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, the unwavering support of their families, and the commitment of our exceptional teaching staff.
In conjunction with our Sixth Form and Eco Teams, we are delighted to share with you the results of Turn It Off Week. We managed to save circa £223 which equates to £11,596 over a full year. This is amazing and we would like to thank you all for your support with this. We would like to thank the Sixth Formers and Eco teams for their work on this. It is an ongoing project and so our teams will be holding another week in the new school year as well as encouraging us all to 'Turn It Off' during the rest of the year.
Congratulations to Mr Ryder and the Eco Club Volunteers (some of whom are pictured below) on winning The Wilder Kent Bronze Award for 2023! This award was given to recognise their continued hard work and positive action to encourage a wilder Kent.

Volunteering colleagues were kind enough to drive our group to Stansted Airport. On arrival, a coach drove the group direct to Madrid, and we were able to drop our bags in our accommodation and we walked to the Plaza Mayor to meet our Guide for a 3 hours' guided tour of the city, enjoying the architecture, soaking in the Spanish culture and passing the amazing Royal Palace. In the evening, we had a Paella meal, sampling typical Spanish cuisine and everyone enjoyed it! Day 2 The following morning started with experiencing travelling in the Spanish underground and enjoying a fabulous panoramic view of the city and an excellent vantage point for the Royal Palace and some photos. The Cathedral "Catedral de la Almudena" had an interesting museum, and the inside architecture was amazing, students were interested in everything! After lunch around the Plaza Mayor, the whole group travelled to enjoy a Spanish cookery class, and what fun we had! Students cooked Tortilla de patata, Paella & Tarta de Santiago. We then travelled further to the "Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía", and as we arrived early, we were able to visit the tropical garden within Atocha Station. The museum was quite unique and students who study art really enjoyed the extravagant displays! We all had time to refresh at the hostel, before making our way to another Museo del Jamon restaurant to sample Tapas this time, it was simply succulent! Day 3 Our last day was the awaited visit to the famous "Santiago Bernabéu Stadium", home of "Real Madrid". The whole group felt like a rest, after such an event; and we had a chance to remain around the "Plaza Mayor" for fresh drinks, nice food and a little shopping. After this, we visited the Royal Place, packed up and arrived at the airport to find our flight being delayed. Students were impeccable during the whole trip. Madrid was most enjoyable, a fully packed trip for students who sampled culture, cuisine and art and architecture as well as practising Spanish. Señora Kinney
View our Photo album for more photos! MFL School Trip to Paris- 14th - 16th June 2023. Day 1 We departed early from school and students enjoyed a smooth crossing, with a choice of continental breakfast or British style. As we had arrived early in Paris, we were able to stop at the famous "Musée Le Louvres" for a couple of selfies with the new TMS Bear "Thomas". The group was then driven to a French Buffet style fast-food restaurant to sample a selection of starters, main meals, and deserts. From there, everyone followed in a group to make our way to the Parisian River "La Seine", and on our way we were able to walk around the famous "Arc de Triomphe". The river cruise "le Bâteau Mouche" was most enjoyable, allowing students to view the amazing Parisian architecture while enjoying a warm breeze on the opened upper deck. Day 2 The next day was one of fun at the Disneyland resorts; a very hot but enjoyable day for all. The hotel was fun as some students were able to dance and sing on the Mezzanine, and some found a large TV and competed on a PlayStation. Day 3 On our final day, we visited the Eiffel Tower. It was for some "a once in life opportunity" to climb up the famous "Tour Eiffel", but such a hot day! It was a fantastic school trip, and we believe the students were able to enjoy their time together while sampling the French culture and new travelling experiences. À la prochaine! Madame Kinney
